The Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City is perhaps the hottest real estate for restaurants right now, with almost five upmarket eateries and pubs calling it home. The latest addition to the culinary space is Whisky Samba which brings a touch of chutzpah to the dine out scene with its interesting menu and eclectic interiors. It’s the hottest ticket in town, with the ladies who lunch making a beeline for it, a sure shot indicator of its Insta-friendly vibes and feel.
Spread over 8000 sq.ft., the space done up by Prantap Trikha of Studio Praxis has an elegant and charming feel to it. With long tapas tables and leather accents adding a pop of color to the otherwise black and white interiors, it offers a unique mix of opulence and comfort.
The menu curated by famed food historian Anoothi Vishal and Whisky Samba corporate chef, Kaustubh Haldipur, is a mix of different cuisines. “We celebrate this intersection of ideas and tastes of the East and the West, through this menu.” says Chef Kaustubh and the menu certainly reflects that.
Start with the Avocado Salad which is delightful and makes for an amazing photo for your socials. The Salmon Ceviche with its spicy sesame dressing is the ideal recommendation for nonvegetarians, which is light on the palate and immensely flavorful. The Tandoori Pineapple Chaat is unique and though a trifle spicy, it is something everyone should try. There are a host of Japanese inspired dishes and you could start with the Spicy Chicken Dumpling which is filling and made just right.
For the main course, try the unique Paneer Pasanda and Pindi Chana if you are craving for some simple Indian Food. The dishes are not too heavy and are excellent in both taste and flavor. Meat lovers should go for the Mutton Nihari or the Kachche Gosht Ki Biryani; the latter is a treat with its succulent meat and something most Hyderabadis would enjoy. From the popular orders around us, we could make out that Whisky Samba makes a killer Udon Noodles which we have left for an encore.
The Nannari Julep is a drink that will pair the best with the variety of food on offer so make sure to have it with your main course. For sweet endings, nothing beats the French Toast, which tastes like a slice of heaven! n
